Major (Ret.) Trevor J. Smith
Trevor Smith is a command-level law enforcement executive with more than 33 years of distinguished service leading complex operations, high-risk investigations, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. He is widely recognized for decisive leadership, operational oversight, and risk management in high-stakes, highly scrutinized environments. His career reflects extensive experience directing large teams, managing statewide programs, shaping policy, and advancing mission readiness through data-driven performance management. Trevor began his law enforcement career with the Baton Rouge Police Department in 1991 before joining the Louisiana State Police in 1994. Over the course of his tenure, he rose to the rank of Major/Command Inspector, where he provided executive oversight of criminal intelligence, special investigations, crisis response, training operations, the state crime laboratory, and the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information (BCII). In this role, he supervised more than 200 commissioned and civilian personnel and served as a key advisor to executive leadership on regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, personnel strategy, and critical operational decision-making. Early in his career, Trevor was involved in a fatal officer-involved shooting—an experience that profoundly shaped his leadership philosophy and professional mission. Overcoming the physical and psychological challenges that followed instilled in him a deep and enduring commitment to supporting law enforcement professionals navigating critical incidents and post-traumatic adversity. Trevor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration from Louisiana State University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 233) and a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS) through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). His professional development includes advanced certifications in Traffic Accident Reconstruction, Fraud Claims Law Specialist, Executive Management of Intelligence, Advanced Search & Seizure, Gangs & Organized Crime Intelligence, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, and Public Information & Media Relations. Since 2008, Trevor has delivered practical, experience-driven training to hundreds of recruits, law enforcement officers, and first responders. He is widely recognized as a subject matter expert in criminal intelligence, officer-involved shootings, organized crime investigations, and autism awareness for public safety personnel. His service has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including Trooper of the Year and the Meritorious Service Award. He maintains active membership in the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA), the International Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigators Association (IOMGIA), and the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA). Outside of his professional service, Trevor is a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under Professor Nathan Lott.

Inv. Bart E. Morris
Bart Morris is a veteran law enforcement professional with a distinguished 38-year career in criminal justice, including 24 years dedicated to criminal investigations. He began his service in December 1987 and retired from the Louisiana State Police in January 2020 following an exemplary tenure of service and leadership. Throughout his career, Bart held numerous key assignments, including Uniform Patrol Supervisor, K-9 Handler, Field Training Officer, Detective, Criminal Intelligence Investigator, and Narcotics Investigator. He was also a member of the State Fugitive Task Force, and the U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Locate and Arrest Team (SOLAT). Nearly two-thirds of his career was devoted to complex and high-level criminal investigations, where he managed major cases and collaborated extensively with multi-agency task forces at the local, state, and federal levels. Bart has received extensive advanced training in homicide investigations, officer-involved shootings, advanced interview and interrogation techniques, and complex case management. He also served as an undercover operative during numerous high-risk investigations. A pivotal moment in Bart's career occurred when he was involved in an off-duty shooting. This near-death experience provided him with rare, first-hand insight into the criminal, civil, and administrative investigative processes that follow critical incidents of this nature. In addition to his operational experience, Bart is a certified law enforcement instructor through the Louisiana POST Council and a graduate of the FBI Instructor Development School. He is also a defensive tactics instructor and holds Louisiana POST certifications as both a Lead Homicide Investigator and an Officer-Involved Shooting Investigator. Over the course of his career, Bart has trained and mentored countless law enforcement professionals, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to leadership, accountability, and professional excellence. His service has been recognized with numerous Meritorious Service Awards, Professional Excellence Awards, and Unit Citation Awards, as well as commendations from state and federal agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Currently, Bart serves as a Senior Investigator with a District Attorney’s Office in Louisiana, where he supports felony prosecutions through meticulous investigative work and close collaboration with prosecutors and partner agencies. Outside of his professional service, Bart is a dedicated fitness enthusiast and certified personal trainer, continuing his commitment to discipline, resilience, and personal development.
